Nick Powers on Psychedelics & Race | The Lex Files

Does the perception of psychedelic drug use differ by race? On this week’s The Lex Files, our host Lex Pelger sits down with author, activist, and college professor Dr. Nicholas Powers to discuss psychedelics, how we judge their use in society, and the potential psychedelics have in breaking down the barriers we create between us as a community.

Dr. Nicholas Powers is a poet, a journalist and a college professor who explores the racial dimensions of psychedelia. He co-hosted the long running New York City College Poetry Slam at the Nuyorican Café.

Join us for The Lex Files, where host Lex Pelger takes us on his weekly quest to decipher the ways people are biohacking their bodies and minds with topics like cannabinoids, psychonautics, and more. Spanning traditional healing to the newest scientific breakthroughs, experts reveal their insights into how we can engineer our lives through a better understanding of the world around us. New episodes every Monday at 6:00AM ET.
